About Pneumatic Tool Safety
Pneumatic tools are quickly becoming the tool of choice in many trades due to their speed and efficiency performing many different types of tasks. Pneumatic tools are also especially dangerous because of the extreme force of the compressed air that powers them. Many injuries are being reported from misuse and accidents. These tools have become so commonly used that it’s easy to forget how dangerous they can be, both to the user and to others in the area.
When working with a pneumatic or other powered tool, the user should understand the hazards associated with that tool and practice all safe-operating procedures. Pneumatic tools include chippers, drills, hammers, sanders, spray guns, air ratchets, grinders, nibblers, buffers, nailing and stapling guns, jack hammers, chipping hammers, riveting guns, sanders and wrenches and many more.
