How it Works
Once a WeTip operator takes a call, a case number and code name is assigned to the tipster. If the tipster has more information at a later date, or is interested in a cash reward, they will use this code to pick up their reward. To be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000, the person turned in must be arrested and found guilty. The reward is paid by WeTip at a local post office by giving the code name and the tipster’s identity will never be known. The most common reported tips dealing with schools include; arson, weapons, child abuse, drug sales, drug possession, graffiti, property damage, vandalism, burglary, theft, auto theft, threats, employee dishonesty and workers’ compensation fraud. After a tip has been called in, WeTip will contact the appropriate school district headquarters via a faxed report. Depending on the tip and jurisdiction, the appropriate law enforcement or fire agency may also be notified by WeTip.
