Cal/OSHA has very specific regulations covering welding, brazing, and cutting operations. Ventilation requirements depend on the metals and compounds used during welding. Welding and cutting operations conducted outside and authorized hot work areas involve extensive procedures for fire prevention.

The ANSI Z49.1-2005: Safety in Welding, Cutting, and Allied Processes published by the Amercian Welding Society. This standard covers all aspects of safety and health in the welding environment.
