Chemical Hygiene Plan

a beaker with liquid and bubbles in it.All laboratories including schools, which have potential occupational exposure to hazardous chemicals, are required to have a written Chemical Hygiene Plan. This plan should be designed to address the specific safety needs of the laboratory, employees, visitors, and students. A copy of this plan should be in each science lab or classroom, school office, and at the district office or with the appropriate district safety personnel. If you already have a Chemical Hygiene Plan, make sure it is updated annually and that revised copies are distributed to the appropriate personnel. Sample plans are available from your district safety coordinator or from science chemical vendors such as Flinn Scientific, Inc. Flinn Scientific and other science chemical vendors have many safety resources for free on their web page or by contacting them.
